Long Player

Last updated 15 September 2026

Long Player collects no personal data whatsoever. There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no third-party SDK of any kind. Nothing you do in the app is sent to us or to anyone else.

What the app reads

Long Player asks permission to read your Apple Music library. It uses that to work out which albums in your library are complete — every track present — and to group and rank them by release year or decade. It reads album titles, artist names, track titles, track numbers, release dates, and download status.

All of that is read on your device and stays on your device. If you deny the permission, the app informs you what it needs and offers to open Settings; it does not attempt to circumvent refusal.

What the app stores, and where

Deleting the app deletes all of this local data.

iCloud sync

If you enable Sync Rankings, your rankings are stored in your own private iCloud database using Apple's CloudKit, so your devices stay synchronized. This data lives in your personal iCloud account under your Apple Account.

We cannot see any of it. A private CloudKit database is accessible only to you. As the developer, we have no access to its contents and no way to identify who is using the app. Apple's handling of iCloud data is governed by the Apple Privacy Policy.

Sync is off by default unless you choose to turn it on, and disabling it immediately stops synchronization.

Network connections

Long Player makes no connection to any server we control. It has exactly two reasons to reach the network, both directly to Apple:

There are no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising identifiers, and no tracking as defined by Apple's App Tracking Transparency. The app's privacy manifest strictly declares this.

Children

The app collects no data from anyone, of any age.
